On February 25th, 2008, Juniata Computer annouced its intent to promote a new sustainability program unmatched by any of its competitors in the area. This program would promote sustainability and reduce the impacts of its products and services on the environment. Two programs were annouced - one involving our new laptop initiative and the second involving their new paperless billing promise. Juniata Computer is proud to annouce its association with Juniata College on its Student Laptop initiative. Starting with this year's freshmen class, Juniata Computer will provide customized computer systems through Dell to students looking to purchase laptops that meet the school's specifications. Furthermore, these computers will be installed with almost all of the software you will need to get on and use Juniata's Eaglenet. All that will be required is registration with a Juniata College username and password. As a "preferred vendor" for these laptops, JCL will offer six systems for parents and students to choose. The specifications of these machines will be posted on the website once they are available.

Juniata Computer will also be offering a loaner laptop program to International students who do not want to bring their laptop to Juniata while they study abroad. For a per-semester fee, students will be given a laptop that will meet the college laptop specifications. Any repairs or problems will be covered by JCL, as long as the computer is not purposely damaged. Information about this program will also be released once it is available.

Our "storefront" will officially be open one month from today, January 14th, 2008. Juniata College students and Huntingdon area community members are encouraged to schedule appointments now for their computer repairs and consultations. For the first month, Juniata Computer will offer 10% discounts on ALL computer services.
